54 Suspects Arrested Following Istanbul Courthouse Attack

Following the armed attack by the DHKP/C terrorist organization at the Istanbul Caglayan Courthouse earlier this week, a total of 54 suspects have been arrested as part of the investigation. Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc announced on Friday that 14 suspects have been detained on charges of "attempting to overthrow the constitutional order" and "aggravated murder." Additionally, 33 individuals were arrested for "membership in an armed terrorist organization," while one person was detained for aiding the organization.

Tunc stated that five out of six suspects who had made provocative posts on social media after the attack have been taken into custody. Furthermore, the brother of one of the attackers, who was also involved in the assault, has been arrested for "attempting to overthrow the constitutional order."

"We will continue our determined fight against all terrorist organizations that seek to disrupt the peace of our country and our nation," Tunc affirmed.

Two terrorists who opened fire at the police checkpoint on February 6 in front of the Istanbul Caglayan Courthouse were killed. One woman was killed, and six people, including three police officers, were injured in the attack.
