Turkish and Greek Defense Ministers have signed a letter of intent to join the European Sky Shield Initiative. Led by Germany, this initiative is regarded as a significant step towards meeting NATO's requirements and ensuring the interoperability and integration of allies.

The signing took place at a ceremony hosted by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in Brussels. During the event, Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler expressed, "This initiative, spearheaded by Germany, marks a pivotal stride in meeting NATO's needs while fostering the interoperability and integration of allied forces. As Turkey, we stand ready to contribute our extensive national capabilities to this initiative."

He further extended gratitude to Germany for its coordinating role in the initiative, emphasizing Turkey's eagerness to collaborate in service of collective defense principles. Minister Guler's presence in Brussels is part of his participation in the NATO Defense Ministers' Meeting.
