Istanbul Grants Permission for 34,783 Electric Scooters

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) has approved permits for 34,783 electric scooters to operate within the city limits. The decision, made during a UKOME Meeting chaired by IBB Deputy Secretary General Gürkan Akgün, aims to regulate e-scooter operations across various districts of Istanbul. The increase from 27,782 to 34,783 e-scooters marks a significant expansion, with specific allocations for each district listed.

At a meeting of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME), permits were granted for 34,783 electric scooters to operate within the city limits.

The UKOME Meeting, chaired by IBB Deputy Secretary General Gürkan Akgün, was held at the Çırpıcı Social Facilities.

During the meeting, the proposal for e-scooter regulation across the city was discussed.

The proposal was unanimously accepted upon voting.

As a result, the number of e-scooters operated in the city was increased from 27,782 to 34,783. The breakdown of the 34,783 e-scooters by district is as follows:
